Your Privacy Matters

BlinkBreaks respects your privacy. There is no account to create, nothing to sign in to, and no cloud sync. Your preferences, your custom break backgrounds and your break history stay on your Mac.

Data Collection

BlinkBreaks does not collect any personally identifiable information. All your settings are stored locally on your Mac using the system's standard preferences storage.

What Smart Pause Reads

Smart Pause decides whether a break would interrupt you. It is deliberately built to answer that question without reading your work:

• Meetings and calls. BlinkBreaks asks macOS whether a microphone is currently running somewhere on the system. It never opens an audio stream, and no audio is recorded, stored or transmitted.
• Typing. Only the time since your last keystroke is read. No key codes, characters or content of any kind are accessed.
• Screen sharing. If you grant Screen Recording access, BlinkBreaks checks the system sharing indicators so it can hold a break while you present. No screen images are captured. This permission is optional and the app works without it.
• Full-screen apps and video. BlinkBreaks checks whether an app is full-screen and whether the system reports active playback. It does not read what you are watching.

Purchases

BlinkBreaks Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Apple through the Mac App Store. We never see or handle your payment details.

Purchases are managed with RevenueCat, which records the purchase itself so your unlock can be restored on your other Macs. Because BlinkBreaks has no account system, it uses an anonymous identifier that is not linked to your name or email address.

Analytics

We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous usage analytics — a daily signal that the app was used, along with counts such as breaks completed or skipped, and which screens were opened. This helps us understand how BlinkBreaks is used so we can improve it. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

Error Tracking

We use Sentry for crash reporting and error monitoring. This helps us identify and fix bugs quickly. Error reports do not contain any personal information.

Third-Party Services

Beyond Apple, we share data only with the services named above — RevenueCat for purchases, TelemetryDeck for anonymous analytics and Sentry for crash reports. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
